Be Bright, Be You

Be Bright, Be You
As my birthday set, I made a set on "being yourself". I thought this is an important thing that people, mainly teenagers are forgetting. We teenagers are now saying, "YOLO!" and "Swag!", etc. The question is, why? Why do we all want swag? To fit in? I find this absolutely ridiculous. I read a quote somewhere, I don't know by who but it went like this; "You will never influence the world by trying to be like it. I, for one, want to be a person who can influence the world, and it's true that fitting in right now doesn't help in the future. It's good to have friends and have fun, but academics is what will help me in the future.
By keeping this in mind, I want to make Year 9, a year that I will be proud of.
BTW, sorry for the crappy set, I made it really quickly :P

Happy 6th Birthday, Polyvore!
I feel like I haven't grown at all since I was 6 years old. It even feels like yesterday when I had my 6th birthday cake. But I'll be having my 15th birthday cake in 17 days. Just 9 years ago, I had no interest in fashion; boy clothes, shaggy hair, and worn-out sneakers. I honestly didn't think growing up will be a big deal, in fact, I wanted to be a teenager for so long. On my 6th birthday, I remember I asked for some expensive game, which was popular at the time but against my wishes, my parents got me books, roller blades and some other mini presents. Being the selfish and self-centred child I was, I was not happy with what I got. But I remember when my mum came into the living room with the chocolate cake, my day brightened. To think about it now, I'm greatful that my parents got me the gifts I got, I now know that even if you don't have what you want, something else will make you happy. I know that happiness doesn't come in the form of expensive gifts, but in something sweet :)

Happy Birthday, Polyvore, and I want to say a huge thank you to the Polyvore staff!!!
